Wattle Glen Children’s Centre

Leslie, the Director of Wattle Glen Children’s Centre and Kelly, an Educator at the service describe how they have embedded Munch & Move into the service curriculum. After attending Munch & Move training the service allocated two staff members as Munch & Move champions to share their knowledge on healthy eating and physical activity. All staff are encouraged to role-model the Munch & Move key messages. The service creatively communicates to families by circulating a Munch & Move bag containing resources and suggested activities for families to try at home.

Tracy, the service Cook, discusses how she has used the Caring for Children and the Australian Guide to Healthy Eating recommendations to provide healthy meals to the children of the service. Tracy explains how simple adjustments were made to the way meals were served to better encourage children to try new foods.
