Breastfeeding – for parents

Breastfeeding is the normal way to feed an infant and is as close as a mother and baby can be. It is the best nutritional start in life and protects babies against infection. It will also produce a healthy, alert baby who has a naturally good weight.

If there are problems, it's good to get information and assistance from a qualified professional or the Australian Breastfeeding Association. This page looks at a range of websites with helpful information on breastfeeding.
