The Australian Guide to Healthy Eating

The Australian Guide to Healthy Eating was developed by the Australian Government as the national food guide. It is an important nutrition education tool for use in primary and secondary schools.

National Dietary Guidelines

The National Health and Medical Research Council have prepared Dietary Guidelines for Australian Adults and Dietary Guidelines for Children and Adolescents in Australia incorporating the Infant Feeding Guidelines for Health Workers. They are based on the best available scientific evidence and provide information for health professionals and the public about healthy food choices.

Nutrition schools policy for Department of Education and Communities schools

The Nutrition in schools policy can be accessed on the department's Our Policies website. This policy outlines actions for schools to ensure consistent modeling of healthy eating practices across all areas of food and drink provision in the school context.

Fresh Tastes @ School: NSW Healthy School Canteen Strategy

The Fresh Tastes @ School NSW Healthy School Canteen Strategy is a NSW Government initiative and mandatory for all NSW public schools. The strategy determines the types of foods and drinks that can be sold in NSW public school canteens. A range of support materials are available.
