Physical activity for children under 5 years should involve lots of movement to help them learn fundamental movement skills.  Active play is the recommended form of physical activity, which includes both indoor and outdoor play.  Active play is also great for social, language and brain development. However, it needs to be balanced with time for rest and quieter activities.
