The 2018 release of the Active Healthy Kids Australia Report Card marks the third full Report Card on Physical Activity for Children and Young People. The Report assesses 12 physical activity indicators (physical activity behaviours, traits, and the settings and sources of influence, and strategies and investments, which have the potential to impact these behaviours and traits).

As in 2014 and 2016, Australia has again been assigned a failing grade (D−) for Overall Physical Activity Levels.

The theme of this year's Report Card highlights muscle and bone strengthening activities and recommends children engage in these activities on at least three days per week.

The results of the 2018 Report Card will contribute to the third ‘Global Matrix’ of grades, this time benchmarking Australia against 49 countries.
