National Quality Framework

The National Quality Framework (NQF) (opens new window) for early childhood education and care is an important reform which is putting in place a new National Quality Standard. This aims to deliver a higher standard of care for children in the critical areas of education, health and safety and will provide clearer and comprehensive information for families so they can choose the best services for their child.

Standards on nutrition and physical activity are included in the national quality standards under the Quality Area 2 'Children's health and safety'.
