Sporting Schools is a national program available to all Australian primary schools.

It is a partnership program between the Australian Government, more than 30 National Sporting Organisations (NSOs) and schools and is designed to help schools to increase children's participation in sport, and to connect children with community sport.

Funding is available to schools to engage quality coaches to deliver sporting programs developed by over 30 national sporting organisations. These programs can be delivered to children before, during or after school.

The Sporting Schools mission is to:

  • support sporting organisations in the delivery of great programs that are suitable for children
  • provide schools with opportunities to get their children excited about sports through quality and diverse programs
  • provide children with positive sporting experiences in the best possible way: by having a go
  • support schools and coaches through offering online coaching resources and information to help them run programs

The program aims to engage more than 850,000 children across Australia in what will be the country's largest  school-based participation program.
