Personal Development, Health and Physical Education is one of six key learning areas in the NSW primary curriculum. This syllabus makes a unique contribution to the total school curriculum because it is directly concerned with the healthy development of the student as a whole person. It is based on a broad understanding of health that encompasses all aspects of an individual's well-being, including their social, mental, physical and spiritual health. It is concerned with helping students to develop the knowledge and understanding, skills, values and attitudes that will enable them to lead healthy and fulfilling lives.
